What should I expect by attending Bloom?

Roll up your sleeves for an experiential model of learning and experimenting with potential solutions for your organization’s inclusion issues.  High-impact and highly skilled presenters share best practices, challenges, and methods to connect innovation and inclusion.  Bring your ideas, and come prepared to test potential solutions at Bloom.

Who should attend Bloom?

Everyone is welcome.  We haven’t met anyone yet who didn’t benefit from learning more about inclusion.  Bloom, however, is designed specifically for leaders and teams with responsibilities for inclusion in their organizations.  They will benefit the most because Bloom will give them an opportunity to actually work on their organization’s inclusion efforts with consultants and with each other.  They will get feedback on ideas and plans, learning from experience what works and what might need fresh thought.

Bloom is described as an “inclusion” conference.  How is that different from a conference about “diversity and inclusion?”

Diversity refers to the similarities and differences among people.  It is the demographic mix.  Inclusion refers to the environment where that diversity or demographic mix can maximize its effectiveness.  Bloom is focused on helping organizations foster inclusion so they can reap the full potential of the diversity within their organizations.

How do I convince my employer that it will be worth it for me to attend Bloom?

First, make sure your employer understands that Bloom is a different type of seminar.  You will actually be working on your organization’s inclusion efforts while at Bloom.  You won’t just be listening to information.  Next, you might remind your employer of recent studies, like the McKinsey study showing that companies that capitalize on racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more likely to have financial returns above their industry medians.  You could also point out that by 2025, 75% of those in the workforce will be millennials, post-millennials, or Generation Z, and the people in those generations prioritize diversity and inclusion when evaluating where to work.

How can I become a sponsor, supporter, vendor, or exhibitor?
